After finding myself with a bit of free time I sat down and recorded another timelapse video. This time I chose to actually aim for a certain style, rather than just free-handing the whole thing. I was aiming for a slightly steam-punk(ish) style, whether that was achieved or not is up to you the viewers : )
It’s been a long time since I’ve updated anything here, I’ve been particularly busy. However, I can assure you that there’s some exciting stuff in the works! More news will be coming soon, I’ll just say that it’s going to be an exciting Summer!Enjoy![wp_youtube]P1VzEZi6-bk[/wp_youtube]

Great! Always inspiring. Thanks for sharing, how long did it took you? Is it animation in this model future?
(just thought: could retopo work to adapt the face mesh to the eyeballs in an easy way?)
I liked it! Although I have no idea what steam-punk head is, I’m starting to learn how versatile extrusion modeling is, I’ve heard box modeling can’t get you the same results as what you demonstrated. Next you should do something like making that high poly head a low poly, and render baking. I would appreciate it.

Very nice video – but Gingerman, I have to disagree with you about box modeling – It’s all just a means to an end. You can get the same exact results many different ways. It all depends on your skill level and preference.
